Sorry for lagging on this series things have been hectic between being a new parent, work, and life in general. Anyway, this time around I am focusing on the first release by Luke Sick’s side project The Disturbers entitled “Anansi Spider”. I ordered this tape from the ATAK catalog seeing it listed as a Luke Sick solo endeavor. At the time I was listening to the first three Sacred Hoop releases constantly and had to have it.
It quickly went into heavy rotation and led me to becoming friends with Luke after yelling Dirt Town continuosly during a performance at Maritime Hall for Cues record release party. After which we smoked weed on P-Minus’ roof. The album itself is exactly what it is billed as, a punk rock mc’s four track practice tape. Some of these songs you may recognize. “Crampin ya Action” was reworked for Sacred Hoop’s Go Hogwild album, “Saddness” morphed into “DSL” from Sleepover, and “Gillian” has gotten a new life on Grand Invincible’s latest album Cold Hand In the Dice Game. Here you get to hear them in raw form with different production. Other favorites of mine are “Small Axe” a duet with Bob Marley, “Deadicated” with Z-MAN, and “Battery Chuckers” which became a staple in the Hoop’s live show.

Tape rip courtesy of the man himself, Luke Sick, enjoy and spread it around.
