Gurp City

It's like Vegas fool. San Francisco and the Bay Area rappers, producers and DJs all get together for one good cause, to get drunk as fuck and make good music. Gurp City consists of hip hop pioneers such as DJ Quest and DJ Eddie Def to underground legends like Bored Stiff and Sacred Hoop to freestyle champions TopR and Conceit...pretty much every alcoholic rapper in the Bay Area of California. The Gurp Fam keeps growing and innovating rap music with artists like Trunk Drank, Z-Man, Fist Fam, Grand Invincible, Fay Dog, G-Pek, Eddie K, DJ Marz, Bullet Proof Space Travelers, Bullet Proof Scratch Hampsters, DJ Cue, Brandon B, Luke Sick, Iron Fist, Thuggy Fresh, 6 Feet Deep, DJ Mathew Africa, 4oneFunk, DJ Teeko, DJ Max Kane, DJ Mista-B, DJ B. Cause, DNAE Beats, Boac, The Makai, Third Sight, The AlterBoys, MC Oroville, Illsquad, Live Human, Lords Crew, Alex Pardee, Zero Friends, Big Sammy, DJ Raw B and Fatees.

Listen to The 40 Oz Show, bitches!

Here it is — the first show of 2007. Hope it lives up to the hype. Oh, and one quick clarification: There’s a Ghostface track in this show on which he raps over one of my favorite DJ Premier beats, “Return Of The Crooklyn Dodgers,” but in my show-announcing haste, I accidentally referred to it simply as the “Crooklyn Dodgers” beat. Read about the difference by clicking here.

Lobby Losers Gurp City

If you’re ever in the city of San Francisco, Head on over to historic Northbeach and rub one out at our favorite Live Peep Show spot. 1033 Kearny is the place of grace as MC Oroville calls it. The Lounge Losers give you “My Lusty Lady,” a tribute to Gurp City’s favorite spankhouse. We recommend going in the middle of the day and hitting Chinatown for some Hong Kong Dim Sum House afterwards, thier pork buns are stellar. So swallow your pride, cuff your pants and bring plenty of Purell for that awkward ride home.

Theres a radio edit of this song floatin around as well, So you’d think KMEL would be all about it huh? NOPE. Bump the track, and if you’re feelin it send a lil request on over to the peoples station and tell them to play a cut the people want to hear.

New Year’s Beats (kind of)

Posted by Dap1

Disclaimer: The reason I say ‘kind of’ is because this shit is really early ’06.
After showing up at my girl’s New Year’s Party last night, I immediately noticed the radio playing and no one feelin it. I asked if it was OK to throw my iPod on (since I came prepared, with my RCA-headphone jack chord and all), and she said it was cool. I knew right away what I would bump; DJ Spair’s Mackin’ Mixtape (Oakland Faders) and DJ BCause’s Night of the Remix (4OneFunk), (PS It might be helpful for you two DJs to have links on your myspace pages and crew websites to buy these albums). This shit got the crowd movin, and even though most of the guests at the party weren’t directly listening to the music, I could tell they were feelin it. The best parts of the night was when I would see people would immediately start to dance to the beginning of a song they were familiar with, then go crazy and sing along with the song when they actually recognized who that shit was mixed with…especially when fools went crazy over BCause’s George Micheal beat then stopped and finally noticed that it was remixed with Three Six Mafia’s Stay Fly. Check out and to hear their shit and send them a message to put a link on their pages and follow through with their hustle so you can buy their mixes…I guarantee you will like it.
