Here it is — the first show of 2007. Hope it lives up to the hype. Oh, and one quick clarification: There’s a Ghostface track in this show on which he raps over one of my favorite DJ Premier beats, “Return Of The Crooklyn Dodgers,” but in my show-announcing haste, I accidentally referred to it simply as the “Crooklyn Dodgers” beat. Read about the difference by clicking here.

If you’re ever in the city of San Francisco, Head on over to historic Northbeach and rub one out at our favorite Live Peep Show spot. 1033 Kearny is the place of grace as MC Oroville calls it. The Lounge Losers give you “My Lusty Lady,” a tribute to Gurp City’s favorite spankhouse. We recommend going in the middle of the day and hitting Chinatown for some Hong Kong Dim Sum House afterwards, thier pork buns are stellar. So swallow your pride, cuff your pants and bring plenty of Purell for that awkward ride home.

Now I know it aint really new to most of you since its been all over their Myspace pages and whatnot, But Eddie K the Gurp City Allstar Vet and his Crew The Ill Squad Have a cut out right now called “The Bay is Back” (or TBIB as they like to say on the siccness.net). Basically this is the hottest shit ever and it features Oakland heavyweight Keak da Sneak on the track too. Theres a radio edit of this song floatin around as well, So you’d think KMEL would be all about it huh? NOPE. Bump the track, and if you’re feelin it send a lil request on over to the peoples station and tell them to play a cut the people want to hear.

Sacred hoop and Lord Top Ramen are bringing their debaucherous ways to the Midwest, as well as the great DJ Quest. if you’re in the area be sure to make the drive and check them out. Don’t forget to hit the ATM beforehand to get some extra cash for cds and shirts.
Now Topr and The Hoop will definately put on a dope show. but if you need a lil more convincing, seeing DJ Quest wreck shop is well worth more than the price of admission. Check out a lil snippet from Quest’s routine at a Topr show a few months back.
Welcome to the revamped Gurp City Webpage. While we all loved the old design it simply lacked the functionality needed to serve the constantly evolving Gurp City society. So out with the old and in with the new in 2007, big props to Dap One for the revamp. Check here for all announcements, interviews, show/artist pictures, as well as unreleased material from all your favorite Gurp City artists. Also peep out our Myspace page as well if you already didn’t know. More updates to come real soon.

Disclaimer: The reason I say ‘kind of’ is because this shit is really early ’06.
After showing up at my girl’s New Year’s Party last night, I immediately noticed the radio playing and no one feelin it. I asked if it was OK to throw my iPod on (since I came prepared, with my RCA-headphone jack chord and all), and she said it was cool. I knew right away what I would bump; DJ Spair’s Mackin’ Mixtape (Oakland Faders) and DJ BCause’s Night of the Remix (4OneFunk), (PS It might be helpful for you two DJs to have links on your myspace pages and crew websites to buy these albums). This shit got the crowd movin, and even though most of the guests at the party weren’t directly listening to the music, I could tell they were feelin it. The best parts of the night was when I would see people would immediately start to dance to the beginning of a song they were familiar with, then go crazy and sing along with the song when they actually recognized who that shit was mixed with…especially when fools went crazy over BCause’s George Micheal beat then stopped and finally noticed that it was remixed with Three Six Mafia’s Stay Fly. Check out www.myspace.com/djspair and www.myspace.com/djbcause to hear their shit and send them a message to put a link on their pages and follow through with their hustle so you can buy their mixes…I guarantee you will like it.
